Teacher of Music

Part time, short term contract

MPS/UPS + London Fringe Allowance

Required from 4 June 2018 for 7 weeks.

Educating 1200 students, The Bishop’s Stortford High School provides a single-sex education for boys in Years 7 to 11 and has a large, thriving co-educational sixth form, with over one hundred girls on roll. Last year our students achieved 84% 5 A*-C (Inc. English & Maths) at GCSE and 55% A*-B at A-Level. We have a strong ethos, based on high expectations and standards for all, a committed and supportive staff who deliver high quality, engaging lessons and well-behaved students with excellent attitudes to learning.

We were graded Outstanding in every category by Ofsted in March 2017.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher of Music, with a passion for promoting the subject both inside and outside of the curriculum, to work in an established and flourishing department.  Music takes a prominent position within the school, with excellent participation and high standards of student performance in the frequent concerts and events. This is an active, busy department with an excellent local reputation.

The school has a vast range of enrichment activities which include many international trips, cultural visits, first class fixture cards in all major sports, a diverse and high quality music and drama programme, DofE, public speaking, charity work and much more besides.

Site & Facilities Manager

Salary: From £27,067 Dependent on Experience

Required ASAP

Full time – Permanent Contract – 37 hours per week

Flexi-hours to ensure premises coverage whilst site is open from 7am – 6pm

May include some additional evenings and weekends.

We are seeking to appoint a self-motivated, enthusiastic colleague to join our staff and lead a hard working site team.

Responsible for:

  • managing the site team to ensure outstanding support is available during the school day and beyond
  • the security of the premises and its contents
  • general maintenance of all internal and external areas, including maintenance and operation of plant
  • porterage
  • grounds maintenance
  • litter management
  • chemical control under direction, where appropriate
  • all Health & Safety aspects of the facilities, ensuring compliance to all current legislation/requirements
  • gaining tenders and managing costs associated with site contracts, maintenance and utility service providers

Will be expected to:

  • be proactive,
  • respond to emergency ‘out of hours’ situations promptly
  • hold a full UK driving licence
  • hold a trade qualification

Previous experience of working in site or facilities management an advantage.
