Mitre Run was a Great Success!

The first Mitre Run raises £3500

On Sunday 30th September over 300 enthusiastic runners, including Head teacher Mr Reeve and many other staff members, donned their trainers and joined the inauguaral Mitre 10K & 5K Run, starting from the School's Jobbers Wood sports site.


Running on three different routes, competitors had a choice of 10k or 5k distances with over 50 children completing a FunRun circuit to challenge everyone. There were two categories Under 40 years old and over 40 years old, plus the children's race.

All participants were given a  T shirt and a medal after their noteworthy efforts.

The event raised approximately £3500 for school funds, but more importantly, the event was hugely popular with families and general supporters which made a great atmosphere.

Congratulations to Elizabeth Bellinger winner of the ladies 10k, PE teachers at Herts & Essex, and one of the top runners in Europe and to Mr Reeve, our Headmaster and London Marathon runner, on winning their respective races.

Organisers, The Mitre Committee, would like to thank everyone who took part and volunteered to help run the event and they are already planning the next race on the 29th September 2019  - Save the date!
