The school has strong Business Links. The Governor's Community and Business Links committee plays a formative role in fostering the involvement and support of the business community to the mutual benefit of the School and the business community. Careers education, guidance and work experience is co-ordinated by the school's Director of Community Learning and is supported by an administrative assistant who also supports the Governor's Community & Business Links Committee.
Networks work best when they are based on shared interests, experiences and set of values. The school actively pursues new ways in which business partnerships can enliven the curriculum. For instance:
- The school runs Enterprise Education through the curriculum and through cross-curricular collapsed days such as: Year 08 Business Day with Stansted Airport; Year 09 Business day with Waitrose ; Year 10 Stock market simulation day (Maths, Business & ICT departments); Year 11 personal finance day - local companies always being willing to participate in the work experience scheme.
- The school hosts a 'Careers Fair' every two years, which attracts over forty companies to give independent advice and guidance to pupils.
- The school hosts a high profile annual Business links presentation and dinner. (over 200 supported this in 2007),
- Students participate in “Bishop's Stortford means Business exhibition every year.
- We are regularly represented at several local business forums including: Stansted Lunch Club ; Harlow Chamber Bishop's Stortford Means Business; Bishop's Stortford Breakfast Club
